FIRST FEATURED: 05/23/06
ASSOCIATE SINCE: 2005
MAIN PAGE: www.RealmOfInfamy.com
MESSAGE BOARD: www.realmofinfamy.com/forum/index.php
FOUNDED IN: August 2004
MAIN INTERESTS: Science Fiction, fantasy, gaming & RPG, mystery and horror.
The Realm of Infamy community took form through the intense collaboration of a number of presently registered and faithful members. No one person, be it an owner or an administrator, could take all or even a majority of the credit in that regard. As a result, the Realm of Infamy members are officially in charge of the theme and the tempo of the message board, while the administrations sole responsibility is to help maintain or improve the technical and physical aspect of the Realm of Infamy website.
One of the fascinating things about the Realm of Infamy community is that there are no official signs, no official notices or titles to differentiate one member from another. When you visit our community and browse through each thread, you will notice that there are no member post counts displayed, no join dates, no official rank/titles, no graphically enhanced user names to distinguish one member from the other. At the Realm of Infamy, every name is equal; no voice is louder or more prominent than the next. At the Realm of Infamy, a member is judged by the quality of their posts and articles, not by how many posts they have made or when they joined the message board. We do not award new members the opportunity to discriminate on the basis of those shallow and inconsequential factors.
What is the guiding premise of the board? The unrepressed freedom to put into typed words any comment, question, or concern regarding any and all issues. We have been to communities where members were immediately cast out for fully exercising that right, and although far be it from us to question or criticize how other fantasy communities are operated, we are of the opinion that the right to free speech should be encouraged and imposed upon every community message board.
In the fantasy discussions area of our community, every sort of fantasy related topic is encouraged while none are discouraged or dismissed. In the off-topic discussions section of our community, all other non-fantasy related discussions are encouraged while, again, none are discouraged or dismissed. No topic is more important, more prominent or illustrious than the next at the Realm of Infamy.
The Realm of Infamy members willfully choose to discuss an unlimited variety of topics of interest because every member is immediately awarded the right and opportunity to do so. Realm of Infamy members are not encouraged to discuss ONE, TWO, or even THREE HUNDRED different topics; they are encouraged to discuss issues surrounding any and every topic. I prefer upbeat endings providing they're the logical conclusion of the story's arc, not a 'deux ex machina' or equivalent , eg a 'with a leap, he was free'...

It depends how fgar into a story I am; the further in, the less I will be inclined to work on something else. If I am headed for the final climax, I won't want to work on or start anything else until I am done.

Character Development, on the page or off?

It varies with how centrally the character's role is to the story. For important characters, I usually start out with a general concept of the type of person the character is. Sort of like archetypes; not in the sense of role... read more

Hi Vio,
You were always good at coming up with great questions.
In reference to Queen's "con" (or is it Qota for short?) the writing really shouldn't have anything that doesn't forward the story line. (And before you... read more
