You folks may have noticed that I haven't been on the forums as much in the past week or so. I wanted to let you folks know what's going on with me.
Last week, there was a fire in my apartment building. Everyone got out and my apartment was on the side of the building opposite the fire, so no worries. I came out unscathed, for the most part. Just smoke damage, and my renters insurance will cover cleaning and replacement costs.
The upshot of this is that my life just got ten times crazier. I had been looking forward to my summer break as a time to get a lot of work done on ARWZ and my writing. But it looks like I'll be spending a lot more time than I expected dealing with the fallout from this fire. Whether I move back to my apartment or not, I still have to move all of my stuff out so that my landlord's can redo my apartment to get rid of all smoke damaged stuff, such as the carpets, the drop ceilings, the insulation... basically, my apartment needs to be remodeled and I have to move out at least for the time being.
As a result, I haven't been able to be on the forums very much, and probably won't be for the next few weeks - at least until I move everything out of the apartment. I'll be around this week (hopefully) more often because of the Q&A with John Shors, but as my apartment crisis comes to a head, I'll likely be unable to do much more than the basic updating of the magazine.
I appreciate your understanding and especially the help of my mods, who keep this place running when I can't get by. Thanks so much.
Thanks, librarylover. On top of it all, the internet connection at my mom's house (where I'm staying) is on the fritz, so I haven't been able to get online very much. _________________ Violet "Violanthe" Kane
