What do you find appealing in an author's name at first glance? Of course, authors you like an already read are appealing on sight. But when you see an author's name for the first time, does it have any bearing on whether you want to read the book? Are short names more appealing? Longer names? Familiar names? Exotic names? What about a middle initial (or two)? Does it make the name seem more distinctive? Or more cumbersome and difficult to remember/ _________________ Violet "Violanthe" Kane

Until you asked that question I would never have thought about it. Why should an author's name have any impact on whether the book would appeal to me? The title of the book for sure, the synopsis and reviews as well, but unless it was an author I had read and really didn't like I can't imagine that it would matter to me at all.
