Are all of you on hiatus? Hibernating for the winter?
Tell me what you've been doing since January first to further your writing careers.
I dare you, in fact, i double-dog dare you. Go ahead, step across the line I've drawn.
Regards,

Still barely alive actually, though work is slowly killing my will to live...
Have been writing more than usual lately (this does unfortunatly not mean much as I'm pretty slow) and seem to have gotten a few good ideas, time will tell if they go anywere...

Aaaah hiatus... Sweet warm hiatus. I wish! Busy busy busy! Recently, my grandmother died. She was the story telling one too! However, she was 93 and she was in quite the battle with the grim reaper. Unfortunately, like everyone, the reaper wore her down and finished her off. Thus, I took 3 days off from work to travel and attend her funeral. During my time home, I received some sort of mutant space virus from hell. This basically knocked me off for the next week. So, I was a week and a half behind on work. So, I have been scrambling to catch up.
Further, since it has been quiet here, during those odd moments here and there, I didn't have an excuse to post anything. I have been debating on putting a story up in the workshop, and perhaps I will...
I ran across an interesting site today: Ficlets If you're interested in collaborative fiction... _________________ Douglas E. Gogerty

As I just told Doug in a PM, I'm in something of a schedule crisis. I thought my life would calm down after I defended my thesis, but instead the craziness has simply rolled over into term paper time.
Thanks to everyone who has been doing their best to keep things up around here. I haven't been able to do much more than the bare bones of updating the magazine. I assure you folks I will be back to normal come May. But until then please bear with me.
Good for you!! sorry to hear about the unemployment, but hey...more time to write!
Regards,

It did work that way for JK Rowling but the UK's welfare system is arguably more lenient and far more generous than the US's. That's can be both a good and a bad thing.
Anyhow, to answer the OP:
I've been busy rewriting and revising several of my stories. It's amazing what a couple of month's absence from writing a story will do to help you see it in new light. That great idea and/or angle that wasn't there before, now is.
My left wrist has been in a splint since Christmas and it's still a bit sore, so it makes typing very hard. Most of the time I've had to type with one hand which means that I've been mostly playing computer games.
I've also been too depressed to really write anything. I've been actively looking for work for almost three years now, unsuccessfully of course. Last week I got one "maybe" answer but haven't heard anything back. I'm graduating in May so at least I'll finally get the unemployment benefit.
I'm also in on a internet fantasy workshop so I'm going have to write something.
I had a bit of a crisis in January, What with the boyfriend back in Canada after a 4-week holiday here and everyone asking when I'll head back there and myself trying to figure out what I'm going to do, career-wise, when I do get back. I just know my current job is slowly disintegrating my eyesight and, after two plus years in a sitting job, my back is also finding itself in an identity crisis. Did y'all know your entire body shouldn't have a lean the Tower of Pisa would envy?
Other than that, working a lot of OT so I can get my travelling done and go home. Course, getting more money means having less time. I have been working on a few stories, though. And doing a lot of reading. But, alas, those are both activities that require more sitting and intense close-up focusing. Yes, yes, I know you audi-book advocates will say I can "read" while partaking in physical activity. But, let's be honest, I have a very short attention span when others speak to me.
Oh, well, slowly making my way back to my cyber-world.
