hi Vio! thanks for letting me post this on ARWZ, sorry it took me so long to get over here.
Worm's Sci Fi Haven will be hosting an interview of author Lawrence M Schoen. He is a published short story author, and founder of the Klingon Language Institute. This man is smart, witty, and a darn good writer.
stop here for more info. if you want to participate in asking questions, but don't want to become a member of the website, that's fine. you can PM me here, or Vio knows how to reach me as well.
Thanks for letting us know about this upcoming event.
I would very much encourage all the members here at ARWZ to go over and participate, if they feel they have something to contribute. Worm's SciFi Haven is one of our more active associate pages, and is a great place to visit.
(AJ) is me.

AJ: Now speaking of Conroy, and Reggie,
LS: Yes,
AJ: Theyve come up quite a bit, as weve been talking. Tell us more about Conroy.
How did you come up with him, how has he evolved over the stories?
LS: Conroy was, like so many things in my life, Conroy was never supposed to happen.
AJ: He was an accident?
LS: I had attended a writers workshop, a number of years ago, run by James Gunn, a well respected science fiction author, president of Science Fiction Writers of America, former president of Science Fiction Researchers of America, the only man to ever do both.
AJ: Wow.
LS: He has for many years done two, back-to-back, two-week programs. One program is for writers, and the other program is for teachers of science fiction. And in between, theres a conference, called The Campbell Conference with the Campbell Award. Its different than the Campbell Award, dont get me started on that. So I did Jim Gunns workshop a number of years ago, and its two weeks, sitting down with a bunch of other writers, and you just beat each others stories up. Its fun. Its the last night of the conference, and were all sitting around, were happy that its over, and this line pops into my head. And it comes right out of my mouth.
AJ: Without even thinking
LS: No chance to stop it. No chance to engage any type of monitoring software, right? It comes right out. And the line is, Put down the buffalo dog, and step away from the bar.
AJ: Where did that come from??
LS: I have no idea. The room fell dead quiet, and everyone is staring at me. It doesnt make a damn bit of sense. I said I dont know what it means, but I avow to write a story with that line.
