PostStuck...

My 'fantasy', first sequel to 'Days in the Night', was several chapters in and running so smoothly before it suddenly stuck.

My 'Hard SF' Convention space-tale has two more major chapters drafted, but they follow a chapter / episode I must write and cannot...

Just need time...

I write in Finnish so the numbers aren't comperable. Hopefully, I'm about half-way through in the first draft.

Well....I haven't really determined how many pages this will be, and word count is meaningless, but I already have twenty-two poems and twenty horrorku set aside for my forthcoming poetry collection. Fourteen of the poems and eighteen of the horrorku are previously unpublished in any print or on-line zine, although a few have appeared on my blogs and in forums.

Once I determine the total number of poems I'll have, then I start working on the illustrations.

Why is your word count meaningless?

It's not so much the word count that's important as how those words are used. Diction is vital. I have some horrorku that may have only six to ten words, but those six words have to pack a big punch.

Besides, I have yet to bring them all together in one file. So I don't know the overall word count anyway. I can only guess at the page count so far - and I'm guessing I have about twenty pages. That's not counting pages for illustrations, which I haven't even really started on yet.

It might not sound like a lot, but poetry collections aren't novels.

I'm about 2500 words in -- which means I'm 2/3 the way through the story. I'll be on the next one in no time. It'll probably be longer. Perhaps 10,000 words.

Well, certainly, word count isn't so much an issue for poetry.

I'm 26K into my novel, as of this writing.
