Playing Dungeons & Dragons.
I moved away from the town where I grew up, and I lost touch with my old role playing group. I have managed after a few years to get my wife interested in a modified version of Dungeons & Dragons (she would only play if I was DM and a character), but I some times miss the wild adventures my group used to have.
Now I don't even have time to play D&D with my family. If I have time to write, I'm likely to be writing poetry and stories instead of D&D adventures. _________________ "I'm going to do what the warriors of old did. I'm going to recite poetry!"
Reading your reply made me want to log onto some online gaming group just for a try. I have been playing various games on console and PC, but have never experienced playing some game as a team, with people being online at the very same time.
At the moment I am unemployed and if I wanted to, I could spend all day long playing games. But as you mentioned in your reply, I am also of the opinion that in the end .. time could be spent in a wiser way.
Something I never liked about certain adventure games such as e.g. Tomb Raider was that when you got stuck, it took you hours to find the clue and get to the next level. In the same time I could have done a lot of things in the "real world" which would actually give me the feeling of having achieved something useful.
